Why Has My Long-Working Automation Suddenly Stopped?
If your Lightwave automation has been functioning reliably and then suddenly stops, it may be due to a system sync issue, connectivity drop, or software update. Here’s what you can do:
1. 🔄 Re-save the Automation
Why: Over time, updates to the app or backend services may cause automations to desync or stall. Re-saving forces a refresh of the automation logic.
How to:
-
Open the Lightwave app.
-
Go to the Automations page.
-
Press and hold on the automation you would like to re-save.
-
Tap Edit, in the top right of your screen then continue through to the Done page to re-save it.
2. 🔁 Reboot the Link Plus Hub
Why: A temporary communication glitch between the hub and cloud can affect automation execution. Rebooting the Link Plus will re-sync your Link Plus with the Lightwave server.
How to:
-
Unplug the hub for 30 seconds.
-
Plug it back in and wait for it to reconnect.
3. 📶 Check Device Connectivity
Why: Automations rely on real-time communication. If devices or the hub are disconnected or out of range, automations won’t execute.
What to do:
-
Make sure your Link Plus hub is plugged into power (Automations will work without internet; however, the Link Plus requires power at all times)
-
Verify that all relevant devices and the hub are showing as online and work in the Lightwave app, if the device displays "error sending command" please follow this article
4. 🛠️ Check for App or Firmware Updates
Why: Updates may patch known issues affecting automation reliability.
What to do:
-
Update the Lightwave app to the latest version.
-
Check for firmware updates for your devices via the app.
