# What does "Error Sending Command" mean when trying to turn Lightwave devices ON/OFF?
## This article explains what the “Error Sending Command” message means when trying to turn Lightwave devices ON or OFF. It outlines the common causes—such as connectivity issues, offline devices, or cloud sync errors—and provides troubleshooting steps to help users resolve the problem and restore proper device control.
"Error Sending Command" means the communication between the Hub and the device is weak or has been lost completely. To fix this, try the following steps:
1. **Delete the device from the app**, **clear the device memory**, and **re-pair the device**.

2. If the device still does not pair, **position the Hub as high as possible**. The Lightwave system used RF (Radio frequency) to communicate with devices; radio signals travel better downward. Ideally, place the Hub on a **first-floor landing** or, if possible, in the **loft**.

- Keep the Hub away from metal objects (especially comms racks/cupboards), thick walls, or other electronic or wireless devices that could cause interference.
- Ensure the Hub firmware is up to date.
