Why Won’t My Devices Pair to the Link Plus App?
This article guides you through common issues that may prevent successful pairing, including signal interference, setup errors, and compatibility checks. Get step-by-step troubleshooting tips to quickly resolve pairing problems and get your smart home back on track.
Having trouble pairing your Lightwave devices with the Link Plus app? Let’s look at what the LED indicators are telling you and how to fix the issue.
1. 🔴🔵 Red and Blue Flashing?
A flashing red and blue LED usually means the device is ready to pair, but not always. If your device is flashing red and blue, but not pairing to the app, either your device is out of range which is discussed here, or you have cleared the memory of the device by accident and you need to delete the device from the app to repair it as you can only have one iteration of the same device on the Link Plus app at any one time.
🔍 If the red flash lasts less than 5 seconds and the device returns to a solid red/blue state, the memory likely needs to be reset before pairing.
🧠 Solution:
You’ll need to reset the memory on the device before trying again.

2. 🟢🟣 Green and Purple Flashing?
This pattern typically indicates an issue with the circuit, particularly with dimmers.
⚠️ What this means:
-
There may be compatibility issues with the connected lighting circuit.
-
You might be using high-wattage bulbs or incompatible fixtures.
🔧 Solution:
Check that your bulbs and wiring are compatible with Lightwave dimmers.
