Migrate Connect Series devices to the Smart Series LinkPlus App

Introducing the seamless migration tool for any connect Series users!

Now you can effortlessly transfer all lighting and power devices to the new Smart Series app, without the hassle of clearing the memory, repairing to the new app, or renaming devices. This handy tool will also transfer your existing rooms to the new app, making the entire process a breeze.

To get started, simply set up your new Smart Series hub and add it to the Link Plus app. Make sure you have your connect series email address and password handy, as they will be needed to access the devices that are currently on the old app

For a smooth migration, please ensure the Smart Series hub is always connected. This process is incredibly simple and won't take up much of your time. We've designed this migration tool to ensure migration is a hassle-free experience for you.

Please follow the steps below once your link plus hub and app has been set up:

STEP 1

Press the large plus (+) at the bottom of the app and select DEVICES

Select MIGRATE FROM CONNECT SERIES

Fill in your connect series email address and password

STEP 2

You will see a detailed list of all your rooms from the connect series app for you to select from during the migration process. Simply tap on each room to effortlessly select the specific devices you wish to transfer to the new app. Once you pick a device, a prompt will appear seeking confirmation regarding its device type, inclusion on the favourite's page, and the option to either add it to an existing room or migrate it along with its original room

Below are images of device types that are available to select from for dimmers, sockets and relays, please ensure that you select the correct device type before importing the devices over to the new app.

STEP 3 – This only applies if you have Heating devices

Heating devices such as thermostats, radiator valves, and electric switches cannot be automatically migrated. To add each device to the new hub, you will need to manually activate the linking mode and utilise the green link tab in the app. By doing so, the new hub will locate the device along with its original name and assigned room. Although this process requires some manual intervention it is essential for these devices, which operate on 868mhz, to be placed in linking mode to ensure a successful migration.

STEP 4

After selecting all the devices and device types, a green tick will be displayed under each device. You are now ready to import the devices by selecting the green tab at the bottom of the page. A pop-up message will appear, indicating that the migration process has started. You will be able to see the number of devices being imported. Once the migration is complete, the screen will automatically close.

Please note that the duration of this process may vary and can take several minutes, depending on the number of devices being imported.

Once all the devices and rooms have been successfully migrated, you'll conveniently find them either in the dedicated "Rooms" tab or easily accessible on the "Favourites" page if you opted to include them there during the migration. Check out a few screen shots below to see how they will appear in the new app.

Feel free to utilise the migration process as many times as needed, and rest assured that you can revisit it if any devices are inadvertently left behind or mistakenly deleted from the Link Plus app.

It's important to note that this migration process exclusively transfers rooms and devices, excluding timers or events. To set up timers and events, we've introduced a new automations tool in the new app. For detailed guidance on how to configure these, refer to the help section available on our tech support pages on the website.

Also the original Connect Series Link will not be needed in this process, you will only need to have the LinkPlus connected for the migration process.
