📧 How to Change the Email Address on your Lightwave Account
This article explains how to change your email address for your Lightwave account on the Lightwave Link Plus App
Lightwave does not currently allow the email address on an existing account to be edited directly.
To change the email address linked to a Lightwave system, ownership must be transferred to a new email address.
This is the correct and supported method for changing the account email.
🏠 Step 1 – Open Location Management
Open the Lightwave app and navigate to:
Settings > Location Management > User Management
This area controls ownership and user access for the Lightwave system.
🔄 Step 2 – Transfer Ownership to the New Email Address
You do not need to create a Lightwave account on the new email address before starting.
From User Management:

Select Transfer Ownership

Enter the new email address

Send the ownership invite
An email will be sent to the new address with instructions.
✅ Step 3 – Accept the Ownership Invite (This Completes the Change)
On the device using the new email address:

Install the Lightwave app

Create a Lightwave account using the new email address, if one does not already exist

Open the app and go to:
Locations > Pending Invites > Swipe Left > Press Tick
⚠️ Important:
The ownership change does not take place until this invite is accepted.
Until acceptance:
• The original account owner keeps full access
• No settings or permissions are changed
📧 What Happens After Ownership Is Accepted
Once the invite is accepted:
• The new email address becomes the account owner
• The old email address is automatically removed
• Full control transfers to the new account
• All devices, automations, and settings remain unchanged
No devices need to be re paired.

• It is the correct method for changing an account email address
• The process is commonly used when changing email, moving home, or handing over a system
• Nothing happens until the ownership invite is accepted
✅ Summary
Although the app does not label this option as “Change Email Address”, transferring ownership to a new email address is exactly how an email change is completed.
The old email is removed automatically, and the system remains fully intact.
