How to Create Schedule Automation for Your Heating
This article provides a comprehensive, step-by-step guide on setting up a Schedule Automation within the Lightwave Link Plus app, ensuring a seamless process for users looking to gain precise control over their heating.
A schedule automation is used to manage your heating and lighting, ensuring that your devices activate or deactivate at predetermined times throughout the day. This feature streamlines daily routines and helps maintain a comfortable environment. Before configuring schedule automation, verify that your devices are properly connected to the app—follow the steps in this article for guidance.
-
Launch the App
Open the Lightwave Link Plus app. You'll begin on the favourites page. -
Access Automations
Tap the green plus (+) icon at the centre bottom of the screen, then select "Automations." -
Select Schedule
From the available options, choose "Schedule." -
Choose a Device
Use the room display to select the device you want to apply the schedule to. If you wish to include additional devices later, you can adjust this at the end. -
Select an Action
When prompted, choose the appropriate action for the schedule and tap "Done." -
Proceed to the Next Step
Tap "Next" in the top right corner. -
Add an Event
On the days-of-the-week screen, tap "Add Event" within the dotted rectangle. -
Configure Event Details
Enter the start time, the switch/temperature setting you want to apply at the start, the end time, and then the subsequent switch/temperature setting. For example, you might set the temperature to 20°C from 07:00 AM to 09:00 AM and then change it to 5°C for frost protection.
Following the end time of a scheduled heating event, the system transitions to what is known as the 'Setback Temperature'. This is a predefined lower temperature setting, customised directly beneath the 'End Time' field within the schedule automation settings. The Setback Temperature maintains a minimal level of background heating before the next scheduled event begins. This approach helps optimise energy usage while preventing the space from becoming uncomfortably cold, ensuring a quicker and more efficient return to the desired comfort level when heating resumes. -
Save the Event
Once your event details are set, tap "Done" in the top right to return to the days-of-the-week view. -
Copy Events Across Days
To apply the event to multiple days, tap "Copy Events," select the desired days, and then tap "Done" in the top right of the popup. -
Finalize the Schedule
Tap "Next" in the top right. -
Name and Assign Devices
Provide a name for your automation and select any additional devices if necessary.
