The new LP70 Smart Motion Sensor is now here. See manuals attached. This device works with both L2 and LP2 Link Pluses. It does not work with the old Link1 connect series Links (LW930, LW500).
How does it Operate?
There is a timeout between motion sense events where the device is asleep to save power. It is very likely that you are trying to grab the motion attention for example by waving at the device thinking it should be sending motion events, but it isn't designed like that.
It only sends a signal when it sees new motion, it doesn't repeatedly send motion events as this would waste the battery.
The motion sensor device reports motion events as an when they happen. This will propagate to the Link+ which in turn will trigger automations. The sensor also starts an internal timer, that on expiry will report a no-motion event to the Link+. The length of the timer's timeout is user settable under the sensor settings. If there was a new motion detected by the sensor during the timeout period, the timer will re-start. Note that during the timeout period, there will be no further motion events reported to the Link+. This concept increases battery life and reduces redundant RF traffic.

The light level measurement is logarithmic on a 0-100% scale, meaning that a small change in the lower levels (0-30%) will have a larger jump, than the higher region above 50%.
It is difficult to use the light level if the sensor is not pointed towards the light source, so try to position the sensor to "see" the light source.
There are 2 ways to create an automation depending how you want this motion sensor to trigger your devices:
A). Motion Automation. Simple, efficient and quick way to turn devices ON/OFF
B). IF-DO Automation. A more sophisticated Automation to turn devices ON/OFF where you can set desired Light Level, Set "Time is after xx" and set delays between actions.
ADDING A SMART SERIES LP70 MOTION SENSOR
Step 1: Press the green + button at the bottom of the app (this means ADD)
Step 2: Select the DEVICES icon
Step 3:
- Name the Device accordingly (top of the page)
- Place the device into LINKING MODE by pressing the LEARN button , the device should now flash RED and BLUE
- Press LINK on the app when device is still flashing (app will start scanning and when found the device will do a rapid blue flash)
Please note: The LinkPlus app will automatically recognise the device type when linked.
This can then be renamed at anytime after it has been added.
Step 4: Select the Room you would like to allocate the device to, add to favourites page if you wish and press DONE - The device has been added
Once the device is added , these 2 pages will pop up :
1. Reset Time, here you can add a delay as how long after you would like the Motion Sensor to send an OFF Command to your desired receiver (dimmer, socket, relay etc.)
2. Sensitivity, how far and where you would want the sensor to detect motions.
You can always come back to these 2 settings in the App and amend them at a later date. (Hold on the Sensor Tile > Settings > Reset Time/Sensitivity)
A). Motion Automation - Simple and Efficient
Step 1: Press the green + button at the bottom of the app (this means ADD)
Step 2: Select the AUTOMATIONS icon , here you need to select "Motion"
Step 3: Select the desired Motion Sensor (tile changes colour amber with a tick)
Step 4: Select the devices you would like to be triggered by the motion sensor, now press Next. Name your Automation and Press Done. (The Active Toggle can pause your Automation at anytime if it is altered)
B). IF-DO Automation - A more sophisticated Automation
Step 1: Press the green + button at the bottom of the app (this means ADD)
Step 2: Select the AUTOMATION icon, here you need to select "IF-DO"
Step 3: Select the desired Motion Sensor (tile changes colour amber with a tick)
Step 4: Tap on "Add Action" box to select the devices you want to be triggered when motion is detected.
Step 5: Select your devices and press NEXT on top right, here you can chose times and days as when you want the Sensor to trigger your devices. Or you can Skip.
In order for the same devices to go OFF if no motion is detected you can simply to the same as above but this time Tap on the Action Tiles and make sure the Status of the device is shown OFF.
This Smart Motion Sensor can also report list of Motions on daily basis.
