How to create a “Do” Automation

This article offers a clear, step-by-step guide on how to create a "Do" Automation using the Lightwave Link Plus App. "Do" Automations allow you to control multiple Lightwave devices simultaneously with a single command, providing a convenient way to activate custom scenes, moods, or routines at the touch of a button. Ideal for streamlining daily tasks and enhancing smart home functionality.

A "Do" Automation allows you to trigger one or more actions instantly with a single tap or voice command—perfect for quickly turning on lights, activating sockets, or changing LED settings in your smart home setup.

📱 Step-by-Step Guide

1. Launch the App and Tap + → Automations

Open the Lightwave app, tap the green plus (+) at the bottom center, then select “Automations” from the menu.

From the automation options, tap “Do”. This automation type is designed to perform specific actions on-demand, rather than based on a schedule or condition.

You’ll be taken to a screen titled “Actions (do)”. Tap on “Add Action” to begin creating your automation.

4. Select the Room

Select the room where your device is located.

5. Choose the Device

Within the selected room, tap the device you want to control. You’ll then be presented with available actions for that specific device.

6. Select the Desired Action

Choose the action you want to include in your automation. Options might include:

  • Switch – Turn the device on or off

  • Brightness – Adjust light level

  • Indicator LED – Change LED color

  • Stand-by LED -  Change the colour of the OFF LED Indicator's of a device

  • Lock – Lock/unlock a device (if applicable)

Tick the checkbox for your selected action and tap “Done”.

7. Tap Done

Once you've selected the action, tap “Done” in the top right corner to confirm and return to the automation summary.

8. Configure the Action

Set any parameters needed for the action:

  • Toggle On/Off for switches

  • Set brightness level if applicable

  • Add a delay using the timer icon if required

9. Name Your Automation

Give your automation a clear name (e.g., Morning Lights On). If left blank, a default name will be generated.

10. Enable and Save

Toggle Active to enable the automation. Optionally, switch on Push Notifications if you want to receive alerts when it's used. Tap “Done” in the top right to save your automation.

✅ You're All Set!

Your new “Do” Automation is now live and can be triggered anytime from the Automations tab with a single tap.
