# How to Rename a Device in the Lightwave App?

## Learn how to quickly rename your devices in the Lightwave app to keep your smart home organised. This guide applies to Smart Series and Connect Series devices and provides simple step-by-step instructions to customise your device names with ease.

#### 🔄 **Step-by-Step Instructions**

#### **1️⃣ Open the Lightwave App**

Launch the Lightwave app on your smartphone or tablet.

#### **2️⃣ Go to the Correct Room**

- Tap on **Rooms**

- Select the room where your device is located

#### **3️⃣ Press and Hold the Device Tile**

- Find the device you want to rename
- **Press and hold** the device tile  
  This will open the device options menu.

#### **4️⃣ Open Device Settings**

Tap **⚙️ Settings** in the top-right corner.

#### **5️⃣ Rename the Device**

- Delete the existing device name
- Type your new preferred name
- Exit the menu

✅ Your new device name will **automatically save**.

#### 💡 Helpful Tips

- Use clear, simple names (e.g. *Kitchen Lights*, *Bedroom Lamp*, *Hallway Socket*) as this will help voice assistants recognise your devices.
- Avoid duplicate names across rooms
- Keep names short for easier voice assistant control
