How to Create a Motion-Based Automation in the Lightwave App
Automating your smart home with motion sensors enhances daily convenience and energy efficiency. This guide walks you through creating a motion-triggered automation using the Lightwave App.
Step-by-Step Guide
- Open the Lightwave App on your mobile device.
- Tap the green (+) icon in the center of the screen.

- Select the devices you want to automate (e.g., dimmers, smart sockets, relays).
-png-1.png?width=254&height=550&name=Untitled%20design%20(21)-png-1.png)
- Tap Next.
- (Optional) Choose specific days and times for the automation to run.
-jpeg.jpeg?width=254&height=550&name=Image%20(12)-jpeg.jpeg)
- Tap Skip if you don’t wish to apply a schedule.
- Enter a name for your automation (e.g., Porch Light Trigger).
-jpeg.jpeg?width=254&height=550&name=Image%20(13)-jpeg.jpeg)
- Tap Done to save.
Important Note
This motion-based automation does not include any time delays (e.g., delay off after motion is detected).
If you require delays or more complex logic (such as "turn off light 5 minutes after motion"), you must create an If-Do automation instead.
