COMMON QUERIES WITH HEATING
ISSUE |
CAUSE |
SOLUTION |
Electric/boiler switch automatically switches back to OFF when switched ON |
|
|
Boiler switch does not switch on when thermostat target is set high enough |
- Thermostat is not paired with the boiler switch
- Communication issue between the thermostat and boiler switch (RF range/interference)
- Thermostat is not in running mode
|
- Clear the memory of both the thermostat and boiler switch and attempt to re-pair them together - How to clear the memory
- Move the thermostat nearer to the boiler switch and try adjusting the target temperature using the up/down arrows on the device itself (instead of the app)
- Set thermostat to running mode
|
When using the app/web app, an error message appears or device target does not change after setting a new target temperature |
- TRV/electric switch/thermostat did not receive the RF command from the Lightwave Link/Link Plus
- Device is not paired with the app
|
|
Call for heat system has stopped responding (Connect Series Link only) |
- Communication issue between the Link and a TRV in the CFH setup
- There is no schedule set on the app/web app for the thermostat
|
- Ensure that all TRVs using CFH are within a reasonable distance (15 metres)
- Consider adding a 15 minute 'off' period in TRV schedules in between schedule target times and have the last schedule end no later than 05:45
- Check battery levels of each TRV and replace if necessary - any TRVs that have not been connected for a while will disrupt CFH performance
- Ensure there is a web schedule on the thermostat (this will not be followed but there needs to be one here for time reference)
- Disable CFH, delete the CFH setup, re-save thermostat and TRV schedules, wait 5 mins, re-create CFH setup and then re-enable CFH (in this order) - Test it is working by raising the target of a TRV
|
Radiators still seem to be warm/hot when the output of the TRV is 0% |
- Valve pin of the TRV is not fully extended
|
- Ensure the correct collar is used with the TRV and the radiator
- Try calibrating the TRV
|
TRV operating noise is loud |
- Motor is not lubricated
- TRV is not correctly fitted to the radiator
|
|
Electric switch, thermostat or TRV intermittently responds to the app/web app schedule (Connect Series only) |
- Communication issue between the device and the Lightwave Link (RF range/interference)
- Schedule may not be optimally set
|
- Try reducing the distance between the Link and the device and avoid RF interference (metal objects, other RF devices and water)
- Consider adding a 15 minute 'off' period in schedules in between schedule target times and have the last schedule end no later than 05:45
|
Thermostat says TIMEOUT when pairing |
- Communication issue between the device and the Lightwave Link (RF range/interference)
- Memory could be full on the thermostat
|
- Clear the memory of the thermostat and attempt to re-pair - How to clear the memory
- Move the thermostat nearer to the Lightwave Link/device
