Device not pairing to the Lightwave App

This article explains how to troubleshoot a Lightwave device that will not link to the app, including how to put devices into pairing mode, interpret LED flashing patterns, and resolve the most common causes of linking issues.

If your Lightwave device is not linking to the app, follow the steps below to identify the cause and resolve the issue.

1. Put the device into pairing mode

Depending on the device type, use the correct button combination:

  • Dimmer: Press and hold the top and bottom buttons together

  • Relay or Socket: Press and hold one button

  • Boiler Switch: Press and hold the button on the left-hand side

2. Check the LED flashing pattern

Observe the LED indicator on the device:

🔵🔴 Flashing red and blue

This means the device is in pairing mode. If it still does not link:

  • The Link Plus may be out of range. Please see more information here.

  • The device may already be paired in the app. Please make sure to delete the device before you re-pair it to the Link Plus Hub. See more information here on deleting devices from the app.

Tip: Devices that are already paired are commonly found in the top room of the Rooms list. Be sure to scroll through and double-check all rooms.

🔴 Flashing red only

This indicates the device memory is full.

  • A master reset is required before the device can be paired again. Please make sure to double- check that it isn't already in the app before master resetting.

3. Next steps

  • Move the Link Plus higher to the device and try pairing again

  • Confirm the device is not already present in the app

  • If required, perform a master reset and repeat the pairing process
