PLEASE DO NOT CONNECT NON DIMMABLE LIGHTS UNTIL READING THE BELOW
Non dimmable lights can now be connected directly to our dimmers.
In order to use non dimmable lights the dimmer MUST be a Mk2 version, MUST be on the latest firmware and you MUST have a neutral wire connected to it (not all properties have neutral wires at the switch locations)
You can have up to a maximum of 200 watt of non dimmable lighting connected per channel of a Lightwave dimmer.
Out of the box our Lightwave dimmers are set up to control Dimmable lamps ONLY so before you connect a non dimmable lighting circuit YOU MUST DO THE FOLLOWING:
STEP 1 - Connect only the Live and neutral to the dimmer to give it power (not lighting circuits)
STEP 2 - ADD the dimmer to the app
STEP 3 - Update dimmer to the latest firmware if one is available
STEP 4 - You must set the relevant dimmer channels to discrete on and off in the dimmer 'settings' tab under the 'Calibration' section and 'Save Values' - It is important to do this before connecting a non dimmable light as it changes the dimmer channel to on and off mode and will not try to calibrate it when connected. Calibrating is only for dimmable lamps to help find high and low dimming ranges.
STEP 5 - terminate the power to the switch and connect the non dimmable lighting circuits and power back up.
You dimmer will now function as a switch (on/off) and long presses on the buttons will no longer try to dim the connected lighting circuit.
Please note:
*The app will still see a dimming bar however this will not work anymore as it is set to Discrete on/off
*Neutral connected only appears on channel 1 of a dimmer
