Multi press gives the option to configure any actionable automation within the system to be triggered from the specified button event.

These events include

short press (SP), multi-press (MP), long-press (LP) Release (LR)

 

Any of the above button events can be assigned to the top or bottom button of a dimmer or socket

 

Multi press will allow you to automate up to 24 presses of a button which can then trigger custom automations that you have set up

e.g.

5 presses can be set up as a kill switch,

3 presses can be boost Lightwave heating and you can still have the single press turn the light on that it is wired to

So you can have 24 automations set up for the ON button and 24 automations set up for the OFF button 

 

Please note that on all lightwave dimmers a Single press will always turn on the connected lighting circuit and a Double press will always set a lighting circuit to 100% brightness regardless of what automations you create in the multi press set up

 

Example of how to set up a multi press in the app:

 

Go to the settings of the device channel that you wish to add the multi-press automation on

 

 

SELECT MULTI- PRESS From the settings list

 

 

This will then take you to the below screen where you can set up mirror device (replicate another device) Custom up or down button - in this example we will be doing a custom UP button press

 

Select Custom Up button then select Add automation 

 

 

Select the word single press to choose the type of press required

 

 

Select Multi press and then back (summary)

 

 

Adjust the number of presses (up to 24 presses) and then select ADD ACTION to select the devices you wish to control

 

 

Once you have pressed ADD ACTION you will see a list of your rooms, please select all the devices that you wish to be controlled in the multi press automation

 

 

You have the option to select specific device functions such as brightness and switch - see below

 

 

Once you have selected all the devices please press DONE in the top RIGHT

 

 

Please name the automation accordingly and also adjust any devices states to on/off, brightness level or time delays from the list below by simply tapping any device action in the list and press DONE to save

 

 

You will then come back to the main page where you can see a multi press automation has been saved. Here you can add many custom automations and also do the same for custom down button
