A Two-Way Switching Automation must be set up in order for more then one Lightwave Dimmer to control the same lighting circuit.
Traditionally and with the Connect Series dimmers, they need to be wired together for this to work.
The Smart Series dimmers do not use a signal cable for multiway switching so they have to be linked together using the Link Plus app.
This involves setting up a Two-Way Switching Automation that automatically sets 1 Dimmer to a MASTER and all others to Secondary
In most cases the MASTER dimmer should be the one which is connected to the lights (load), and the Secondary should be all other dimmers that you wish to control the same lighting circuit (can be unwired channels of our dimmer)
You can Also use a MAGIC BUTTON in this type of automation to control the same lighting circuit (Wireless spare gang on a dimmer)
Please remember that only the MASTER dimmer will need to be calibrated for lamp compatibility and stability, the Secondary devices will simply follow suit.
Once this automation is set up with the correct Dimmers, you will be able to switch and Dim form any of them just like a conventional multiway switching set up that includes 2-way and intermediate points.
Please see an Example below of how to set up "Two-Way Switching" with
x3 Smart Series Dimmers
STEP 1
Tap on the + at the bottom of the App and Select AUTOMATIONS
STEP 2
Select Two-Way Switching
STEP 3
Select the correct Dimmers from the list of rooms and press NEXT
STEP 4
Please select the correct dimmer from the list as the MASTER dimmer - This will automatically set the other dimmers in this automation to SECONDARY dimmers
STEP 5
Insert Automation name and click on DONE to complete the set up
Please note:
> The master dimmer will run through a calibration before you can use them. Once this is complete please turn on the master dimmer from the app and adjust the brightness if there is no light output. All the dimmers in this automation will fall in sync. You can then try to manually turn the lights on/off and dim from any of the dimmers in this automation.
> All of the Secondary dimmers are no longer app controllable and will have an S symbol displayed on the app tile. They are intended for physical use only. When any lights are turned on from the SECONDARY dimmers you will see them flash GREEN for a brief second. This is normal and is an indication that this particular dimmer has been set up as a secondary device.
The Automation is now complete and the selected Dimmers have been set up to perform multiway switching

on the description it does not tell you how to designate the master and slave. is it down to the order they are inserted, ie slave first then master, or do you have the name the dimmer as master and slave for this to work?
